My name is Vessal Safaei (she/her) and I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with over ten years of experience working in the mental health sector. My experience extends from supporting people with ongoing chronic mental health challenges, to supporting youth from diverse backgrounds, to providing trauma counselling to people impacted by trauma and abuse.
I am deeply interested in the relational ways in which people can heal from emotional difficulties. I strive to provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore your stories and discover the strengths you carry within. I believe deepening our understanding of ourselves is the only way we can deepen our connection to others and to life itself.
When it comes to supporting families, I have a particular interest in working with parents to strengthen their connection to their children and find new ways of facing challenges that bring them closer together.
Qualifications:
I have a Bachelor’s degree (Hons) and a Masters in Social Work. I have also completed further training and supervision to register as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with Medicare. Furthermore, I have completed studies in perinatal mental health, play therapy as well as Developmental Psychiatry by the Mindful Institute (Melbourne University). Finally, I am an accredited child-parent psychotherapist offering dyadic therapy as well as individual support.
